Singapore Silver Support Scheme 2025: Quarterly Cash Payouts Up to S$1,080 for Seniors

The Silver Support Scheme gives quarterly cash payments to lower-income Singaporeans aged 65 and above who had modest earnings during their working years. In 2025 the Government increased the payouts significantly — up to S$1,080 per quarter for the most eligible group.

This boost is especially important right now. Many seniors are feeling the pinch from higher living costs, and the enhanced amounts help cover groceries, utilities, medical expenses and small daily needs with greater dignity and independence.

What the Scheme Really Does

Silver Support is not a universal pension — it targets seniors who had lower lifetime wages and limited family financial support. The money is paid every three months straight into bank accounts or via GovCash.

Big Increase in 2025

Starting January 2025 quarterly payments rose by about 20%. The maximum amount jumped from S$900 to S$1,080 for those living in smaller flats with very low household income per person.

Who Qualifies Automatically

You must be a Singapore citizen, aged 65 or older, live in a modest HDB flat (usually 1–4 rooms), have low lifetime earnings, and limited family income support.

The CPF Board checks eligibility every year using government data — no application form is needed.

How Much Money Each Quarter

The exact amount depends on flat type and household income per person. Lower income + smaller flat = higher payout.

Payment Schedule

Payments arrive four times a year — usually March, June, September and December. You get a letter each December telling you if you remain eligible for the next year.

Extra Help That Comes Together

Many Silver Support recipients also receive GST Voucher cash, MediSave top-ups, ComCare assistance, and CHAS cards for subsidised healthcare.

The combination creates a solid safety net.

The enhanced Silver Support Scheme in 2025 delivers meaningful quarterly cash — up to S$1,080 — to around 290,000 lower-income seniors, helping them live with greater comfort and independence.

If you’re 65 or older, log in to your CPF account or visit cpf.gov.sg/sss to check your eligibility and next payment date. If you know a senior who might qualify, gently encourage them to confirm with CPF or a community centre — the support is there for those who need it.
